The most important Native American instrument is the drum. Different tribes have different traditions about the drum and how to play it. The construction used here is traditional: a wooden frame with finely tanned buckskin or elkskin stretched taut across the opening by sinew thongs. Our smaller Native American hand drum can be used for musical or decorative purposes.
At the end of the day the participant will have an 18” hand drum of either deer or elk hide made in the Blackfoot “Crowfoot” method. There will be sharing of traditions and exploration of creative skills.
The drum is BEAUTIFUL. The colour, the sound, the painting .... everything. The red will go nicely with our colour scheme in our house. Thank you so very much for making this a reality. I'm really quite moved by this "gift".
...my appreciation for your work goes well beyond any dollar measure. By your thoughtfulness and sharing your gift with me, you really have touched my heart.
With my sincere gratitude,
Gene
